Rebecca's Birthday Trip

The tradition continues as it did with Jon's parents taking each of their children out on a birthday trip when they became teenagers. It's a good way to show our appreciation and love for each of our children individually. Rebecca chose to celebrate in Chicago.
Our first stop was the Gurnee Mills mall where she would get her ears pierced for the first time. Jon had her scared thinking there would be pain, blood, infection, and the possibility of losing her ears completely. You should have seen the look he got after it was over and the fear was gone.

Next stop was the "American Girl" store where she was able to purchase the"Rebecca" doll. Jon felt a little out of place walking around stores specifically for girls but knew his girl appreciated it.

Taking in the scenery in downtown Chicago.
Rebecca chose to eat at Potbelly sandwich shop.
The Navy Pier Winter spectacular was a nice stop. It included ice skating, carnival rides, cookie decorating, spectacular decorations, and more.

Happy 13th Birthday, Rebecca!
